This position serves as interviewer for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Programs. (LIHEAP). |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Processes the mail-in applications by checking to see if all required information and documentation has been submitted; when necessary, will contact the fuel vendor and/or applicants by telephone or letter to obtain whatever is missing or to determine customer status. When appropriate, uses CIS, IEVS and LIHEAP system transactions for inquiry and verification purposes. Assists in-office applicants in completion of LIHEAP (Cash & crisis) applications and refers to extra-agency resources (e.g., OBMC) as necessary. Contacts fuel vendor with authorized crisis benefit amounts. Records this information on standardized Energy Assistance Program forms; computers and records total household income on a 30-day/90-day or 12 month basis, whichever is most beneficial to the applicant. After the application is completed, forwards it for supervisory review and authorization. When appropriate, completes and attaches a rejection notice to the application. Completes regular reports on status of cases assigned to him/her. Meets regularly with the supervisor to resolve problems and review program policy as well as individual job performance. Performs other related duties as necessary and appropriate. |
