Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position performs plumbing maintenance and installation work at Fort Indiantown Gap.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Install and repair bathroom and kitchen fixtures such as faucets, showers, commodes, and sinks. Repair and replace flush controls.

Repair or replace faucets and pipes.

Bend pipe; cut, ream, and thread pipe; weld pipe and pipe fittings when necessary.

Cut, thread, clean, and solder pipes.

Prepare material lists for assigned jobs.

Maintain records of work performed and materials utilized for job completion.

Ensure all unused materials are returned to warehouse stock.

Utilize the safety precautions of the plumbing trade.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Perform preventive maintenance and make minor repairs to assigned tools and equipment such as cleaning, oiling, and adjusting.

Performs work in accordance with the DMVA general safety rules and safety rules for this position. Immediately reports all workplace injuries or incidents to the supervisor; and/or immediately corrects any safety hazards in the work area or reports same to supervisor.

Essential Functions
: Provide a list of essential functions for this position. Example: Transports boxes weighing up to 60 pounds.
 
 1. Perform all work using Personal Protective Equipment & safety practices
 2. Lift, carry, and move heavy items with or without assistance. Perform repetitive physical motions
 3. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing; use hand radio and telephone
 4. Observe and report potentially needed repairs
 5. Work in hazardous conditions involving confined spaces, electrical currents, chemical exposure, etc.
 6. Use and maintain hand/power tools and equipment (saws, snakes, wrenches, etc.)
 7. Bend, stoop, dig, kneel, crawl, twist, reach, pull, push, climb, walk, grasp, and stand on hard surfaces
 8. Work in various weather conditions and with unpleasant odors
 9. Perform mathematic calculations and measurements; read and interpret blueprints and instructions
 10. Travel to locations not served by public transportation.
