Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Performs electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations on de-energized electrical systems located at the 193D Regional Support Group, Air Guard Station, Ft. Indiantown Gap.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Troubleshoot, remove, repair, replace, maintain, install and modify de-energized single and three-phase electric power distribution systems and components as well as signal systems.

Coordinate with facility occupants for any planned interruptions to electrical power distribution for maintenance and repair actions.

Perform tests on electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation and to troubleshoot electrical systems to determine cause of any malfunction.

Interpret test results to determine if electrical systems are in compliance with the most recent version of the National Electric Code.

Use meters, testing devices, indicators, and recorders to locate equipment, distribution and motor controller malfunctions and faults.

Diagnose malfunctions and solve electrical system problems by studying layout drawings, wiring and schematic diagrams, and analyze construction and operating characteristics.

Perform recurring and non-recurring maintenance including inspections, cleaning, labeling, lubricating, adjusting, calibrating and painting of electrical system components.

Initiate appropriate repair actions when malfunctions occur.

Track, schedule, and inspect recurring maintenance of electrical distribution systems performed by contract.

Inspect and maintain monitoring and recording equipment such as carbon monoxide detectors, or float operated sump pumps.

Install, maintain, and repair electrical appliances per the 193DRSG/CE direction.

Perform daily and final job site cleanup to maintain a safe work environment and return the job site to its original condition or better before work was installed.

Perform daily travel from shop or last job site to current task locations. Ensure all necessary job materials, tools, and equipment are transported to the job site and returned to the shop each day.

Perform planning activities. Review project plans and visit job sites to determine equipment and labor requirements as well as estimate duration of project work for planning electrical system shop work schedules.

Select and obtain the proper materials, tools and equipment required to complete the job.

Conduct inspection of construction contractor electrical system repairs, maintenance, installation or other modifications.

Complete work order documents capturing work hours expended, installed bill of materials with work order residue turned in, and special equipment purchased for the job.

Serve as the emergency contact for electrical system malfunctions and other urgent requirements during off duty hours. Respond to emergency situations and take actions necessary to preserve lives and property.

Perform other related duties as required.
