Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Conducts investigations into allegations of violations of the standards of conduct, laws, rules, and regulations of the professional and occupational licensing boards and commissions under the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, and may conduct inspections to determine compliance with the laws, rules, and regulations of the various licensure boards and commissions. Conducts investigations into allegations of violations of the laws, rules, and regulations in other areas under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Commonwealth, including, but not limited to, the Bureau of Corporations and Charitable Organizations; Bureau of Commissions, Elections, and Legislation; and the State Athletic Commission. Conducts investigative support activities to support the Bureau mission. Travels to various sites in a geographic area of the state to conduct investigations and inspections by observation, interviews, and fact gathering, noting any deviation from established standards, and preparing reports to communicate findings. Periodically performs investigative activities involving complex investigations under the guidance or direction of a lead investigator/investigator 2. Plans, organizes, and coordinates investigations and confers with supervisor or designee on their progress. This includes, but is not limited to, reviewing the initial complaint to determine the relevant issues, establishing an investigative plan, interviewing the appropriate persons, gathering the needed evidence, and reducing the issues into a clear, concise written report. Required to keep confidential the identities and locations of interviewees and evidence obtained in executing duties. Types required reports completely and accurately relating findings of any given investigation or activity. Issues citations when appropriate violations are found in accordance with the Act 48 Citation Program. Contacts persons to make appointments and for other work related matters. Reads, understands, and appropriately applies all the laws, rules, and regulations of the appropriate licensing Boards, Commissions, Departments, and Bureaus as it applies to their position to be able to properly perform their duties. Attends training sessions to maintain and expand their knowledge and skills. Keeps supervisor aware of their activities by discussing their projected tasks and locations for any given time frame. Testifies at formal and informal hearings and appears as a witness for the State in formal judicial proceedings. Travels to and from work sites as necessary. Be available for temporary reassignment statewide, as necessary, when directed. Operate general equipment including, but not limited to, computers, mobile devices, copiers, scanners, cameras, calculators, faxes, etc. Performs related duties as required and directed. |
