Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Performs semi-skilled/unskilled work alone or assists a skilled trades employees. Operates large variety of maintenance equipment and tools in many different tasks. Operate large mowing equipment and tractors, including roller, spraying and fertilizer spreader. Shovels and/or plows snow and ice. Operates and maintains small mowers, weed-eater, chain saws and walk behind snow blowers. Assists in Major repairs, such as rebuild lawn mower engines, weld and use acetylene torch to repair other equipment. Performs maintenance on chain saws and sharpen saw and lawn mower blades. Sweep, clean, repair and blacktop roads. Works as helper to skilled trades employees and assists in performance of their duties. Assists in the repair of water line breaks and the hauling of materials to do a job. Operates highlift, and forklift in grading and hauling bulk materials. Operates light trucks and other vehicles with and without trailers, with and without snowplows, salt and cinder spreader, and snow blower. Perform work in adverse weather conditions. Transport residents and materials using Commonwealth vehicles. Support the facility QAPI efforts by attending all assigned QAPI training; following established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts; participate in PIP teams as assigned; sharing ideas for improvement in the organization; and supporting QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally, including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings. Perform work in accordance with the DMVA general safety rules for this position. Immediately reports all workplace injuries or incidents to the supervisor; and or immediately corrects any safety hazards in the work area or reports the same to the supervisor. Use personal protective equipment when required such as gloves, masks, face shield, etc. Performs other related work as required. |
