Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Supports Research division with routine reporting, basic sales analysis, data gathering and cleaning, and assists on larger research projects.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

1. Assists with research in order to identify trends and make recommendations for promotions and improvements to the Lottery’s product portfolio or departmental policies or procedural changes.

2. Helps with systems analysis and operational research studies for evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of current programs, policies, and systems. Assists with developing recommendations based on study findings.

3. Gathers data from extensive and varied ad hoc sales reports and other sources; monitors individual game sales’ performance; analyzes statewide and regional sales and promotional activity in an effort to identify successful or underperforming Lottery products or marketing strategies; and drafts written reports for review of findings including recommendations that would increase sales and recommendations of new game marketing techniques and strategies.

4. Maintains analytical reports for Marketing, Products, Retail Operations and the Executive office.

5. Assists with the design and generation of research projects to meet stated objectives.

6. Demonstrates a commitment to the service-oriented culture of the Department.

7. Applies Lean thinking in day-to-day tasks.

8. Is mindful of internal controls and risk management when changes are made to a process.

9. Treats others equitably and adheres to diversity and inclusion requirements in the workplace.
