Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Greets visitors, ascertains their needs, answers questions, provides employment information or other information as required, and furnishes applicants with required forms and assistance in filling them out. Coordinates interviews, physicals and other pre-employment requirements. Prepares vacancy announcements for direct recruit Nurse Aide jobs and positions open for shift bidding. Ensures language is in compliance with Civil Service and union requirements. Distributes and posts bids on appropriate bulletin boards and computer systems. Maintains recruitment files on vacancies. Verifies Nurse Aide certifications through the Nurse Aide Registry. Prepares interview notices and non-selection letters. Prepares and distributes appointment letters for direct recruitment Nurse Aide positions and for shift bid selections. Submits related ePARs. Ensures that workers’ compensation claims are complete. Inputs work-related injury claims into SAP and the Workers Comp database. Assists the Workers’ Compensation Advisor by maintaining an electronic and hard copy backup filing system for work related injuries at DVVH. Coordinates claims calls with headquarters staff. Scans SPF requests and e-mails them to the HR Service Center. Ensures that CDL coded employees receive required training and that policies are followed. Serves as the contact person with PENNDOT. Notifies employees through their supervisors of random tests required and follows up to ensure that the tests are performed as directed. Notifies the HR Director of any positive results. Assists with in-processing new employees. Schedules employee physicals and TB tests as appropriate for their job duties. Responds to employees who have routine HR questions during their initial orientation period. Answers questions from applicants regarding minimum experience and training requirements and procedures for obtaining Commonwealth employment. Makes copies, types documents, and sends and delivers faxes as needed. Sorts, processes, and distributes mail to appropriate HR staff, supervisors, and employees as directed. Answers telephones, directs calls, takes messages, and answers HR related questions. Sets up and maintains files by subject matter. Maintains a variety of manuals, directives, and other publications. Adds, removes and makes changes in order to keep reference material current. Orders supplies and forms as needed for the HR Office. Performs work in accordance with the DMVA general safety rules and safety rules for this position. Immediately reports all workplace injuries or incidents to the supervisor; and/or immediately corrects any safety hazards in the work area or reports same to supervisor. Performs related duties as required. |
