Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Leads the development of high-quality, data-driven research reports, industry analyses, country investment & trade profiles, and officials visits and dignitaries' briefs. Work within the Research & Analytics department to enhance PA’s business attraction initiatives. Works with Pennsylvania companies, international contractors, Regional Export Network partners, grant independent advisory review panels, Commonwealth agencies and other organizations in promotion and all activities related to implementation of BusinessPA program and services. Drafts and publishes correspondence related to BusinessPA programs and services. Conducts in-depth studies on industries, trade flows, and foreign direct investment trends to inform state leadership and business decision-making. Assists the Exec Director of International Operations in event planning including budgets, marketing and related follow-up. Prepares and maintains a calendar of international trade/investment/tourism/agriculture events, international contractor visits to Pennsylvania and international travel of BusinessPA international staff. Identify and assess emerging economic trends to evaluate risks and opportunities for Pennsylvania’s economy. Oversees the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of dashboards, databases, and analytics tools (e.g., SharePoint, Power BI) to track Pennsylvania’s economic performance. Assists in drafting, editing, and uploading documents for publication on the BusinessPA webpage and interactive web-based initiatives. Works closely with the BusinessPA marketing team to integrate research outputs into promotional materials, investor-facing presentations, and digital campaigns. Provides important updates using benchmarked metrics to track statewide progress on 10-year economic development strategy. Provides timely research Inquiry primarily in relations to investment lead generation, attraction, expansion, and Joint-Venture Projects. Assists BusinessPA FDI staff in working with local economic development agencies, utilities, real estate representatives, developers and other PA partners to identify available sites and buildings based upon the foreign company spec requirements to encourage site visits to PA and provides specific, relevant information to enhance the company’s decision to locate in PA. Attends various economic development and internationally related networking events and conferences to establish, enhance and/or maintain working relationships with local and regional partners across the regions and industries of PA to ensure efficient and receptive communication for effective project management. Trains and onboards interns and new staff, providing training in research methodologies, data tools, file management, and best practices. Applies international and cultural skills to daily project assignments. Reviews and analyses industries for PA/global growth and potential in relations to the competition. Presents research information to BusinessPA and clients as assigned. Participates in team meetings to provide project updates. Performs related duties as assigned. |
