This position serves as a senior-level Salesforce professional responsible for advanced platform administration, application development, and internal capability development. The incumbent performs complex configuration and custom development within the Salesforce environment and supports the establishment of internal standards and sustainable support practices as the agency builds a Salesforce team. Work is performed with considerable technical independence. The position ensures stability, security, performance, and strategic alignment of the Salesforce environment in support of agency operations and program objectives while contributing to the development of internal organizational capacity to support Salesforce as an enterprise application platform. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Administers the agency’s Salesforce environment, including user accounts, role hierarchy, profiles, permission sets, and security controls to ensure appropriate access, data integrity, and compliance with Commonwealth IT policies. Designs and maintains complex data models, including standard and custom objects, fields, record types, validation rules, flows, automation processes, and approval workflows to support evolving business requirements. Develops and maintains reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to provide accurate and actionable information for program management and executive decision-making. Manages data integrity processes, including data imports, exports, transformation, cleansing, and deduplication to maintain reliable and compliant system records. Troubleshoots and resolves complex platform issues, conducts root cause analysis, and coordinates defect remediation to ensure continuity of operations. Evaluates Salesforce releases and new features, assesses business impact, and implements approved enhancements to improve system functionality and performance. Maintains comprehensive system documentation, including configuration records, data dictionaries, and procedural guidance to ensure audit readiness and operational continuity. Monitors system performance, storage utilization, and security settings to proactively identify risks and maintain a stable operating environment. Designs, develops, tests, and deploys custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, Flow, APIs, and other approved technologies to address complex business requirements. Develops and supports integrations between Salesforce and internal or external systems using APIs and approved integration tools to ensure secure, reliable, and maintainable data exchange. Conducts code reviews, develops unit tests, and supports user acceptance testing to ensure solution quality, stability, and adherence to established development standards. Manages code migration and deployment activities across development, testing, and production environments in accordance with structured change management procedures to ensure controlled and auditable releases. Identifies performance optimization opportunities and recommends enhancements to improve scalability and reduce technical debt. Provides mentoring and technical guidance to agency staff and emerging Salesforce team members to build internal administrative and development capability. Assists in developing standard configuration practices, reusable development components, and documentation templates to promote consistency, efficiency, and maintainability. Shares knowledge of Salesforce best practices, secure coding standards, and governance principles to strengthen the agency’s long-term sustainability strategy. Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and technical staff to promote sound solution design and effective platform utilization. Contribute to the development of a structured Salesforce support model to reduce reliance on external vendors and expand internal expertise. Ensures all system configurations and development activities comply with Commonwealth IT policies, security standards, accessibility requirements, and data governance practices. Participates in audits, security reviews, and risk assessments by providing required documentation and implementing corrective actions to ensure compliance. Maintains role-based security models and data-sharing configurations to safeguard confidential and sensitive information. |
