Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. This position administers a group of semi-skilled laborers assigned to the Grounds / Landscaping Division. • Engaged in the repair and maintenance of all facilities that exist outdoors including roads, parking areas, sidewalks, sewers, catch basins, railings, fences, curbing, and cement work. • Coordinate the movement of construction equipment throughout the grounds. • Maintains personnel records, i.e. record time worked, vacation and sick leave; schedules vacation time. • Write performance evaluation reports of personnel within the Labor Division. • Participates in the performance of all aspects of their subordinates’ work consistent with operational needs. • Assigns work to lead workers and other staff. Ensures grounds are maintained, etc. grass cutting, line trimming, weed control. • Attend Foreman and Supervisors Meetings when required. • Insures the efficient accomplishments of assigned tasks of all subordinate employees. • Ensures that all safety equipment is being used and in place at all times but specifically when working on roads and parking areas. • Directs the work staff, when needed, in the completion of leaf collection, turf repair and tree disposal. • Instruct staff in the proper use of equipment including but not limited to : 2 ˝ ton lift gate truck, box truck, dump truck and other related equipment. • Operate light duty trucks, small dumps and lift gate trucks. • Keeps supervisor informed of all work status. • Works overtime when required. • Coordinates work activities with other managers, supervisors or foreman. Work with Automotive Mechanic in the maintenance and repair of the grounds equipment. • Performs other related work when required. Required to participate in Medical Monitoring Program and all approved asbestos training programs. Essential Job Functions: 1. Repair roads, parking areas, sidewalks, etc. 2.
