Position Purpose:

The regional Aquatic Biologist intern (Clean Water Program, SERO) assists regional Aquatic Biologists in completing technical work required to support the region’s water management programs.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Assists regional biologists in conducting watershed assessments, cause/effect surveys, point of first use surveys, and collection of annual fish tissue samples. Learn, and assist in, laboratory processing of benthic macroinvertebrate samples collected as part of waterbody surveys.

The regional Water Pollution Biologist intern follows biological and chemical sampling methods developed by the Bureau of Clean Water's Water Quality Division.

All intern work will be reviewed by the supervisor.
