Position Purpose:

The Livestock Worker 1 position is responsible for the collection of urine samples from assigned races horses, recording and maintaining proper data such as chain of custody procedures, performing upkeep of the Dentention Barn, and assisting in any other neccessary farm activities.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Independently collects animal urine, saliva, and feces samples for testing.

Verifies the identity of the racehorses through tattoo identification.

Prepares and packages specimens for laboratory testing.

Assists Veterinarians or Veterinary Medical Field Officer by restraining animals as the veterinarian collects blood or tissue samples for various tests, administers drugs and biologicals, and conducts examinations.

Operates basic farm-related equipment.

Sanitizes, maintains, and cares for equipment utilized in the performance of duties.

Prepares, maintains, cleans and disinfects stalls, shed rows, and equipment

Assists more experienced farm employees in the more skilled farm activities.

Performs other related duties as required.
