Position Purpose:

Description of Duties: This position is responsible for a wide range of moderately complex clerical work within the Division of Licensing and Registration, Bureau of Administration.

The primary responsibility of this position is to audit, review, and process boat registration and boat title application forms and related ownership documents. Reviews application forms and related ownership documents for content, completeness, accuracy, and to ensure that the appropriate taxes and fees are calculated and remitted.

Identifies, investigates, and resolves moderately complex registration and titling discrepancies, and identifies and assists with the release of registration and titling suspends.

Provides data entry services for a wide range of boat registration and boat title application transactions.

Serves as a support person for customer questions regarding their boat registration and titling issues. Investigates and resolves customer inquiries.

Provides back-up coverage of the front window operations. This includes, but is not limited to, selling fishing licenses, reviewing and processing boat registration and/or titling applications, selling a variety of promotional merchandise, transmitting the daily credit card totals, balancing all reports associated with monies collected, assisting Commission visitors or vendors , maintaining the visitor security log book and monitoring the badges that are issued, and processing the paperwork received from the House of Representatives and/or Senate offices.

Applies Commonwealth laws and Commission regulations and policies that govern the establishment, issuance, correction, duplication, and cancelation of boat registrations, boat titles or lien holder accounts.

Maintains and reconciles a RATS drawer on a daily basis.

Searches boat ownership information archive filing system and retrieves documents, forms, and records.

Operates microfilm reader/printer to research boat ownership history for boats registered and/or titled in Pennsylvania.

Photocopies documents when required and as directed.

Files work on a daily basis and maintains their suspends folder within the rolling files.

Matches follow-up and customer supplied auxiliary documents with suspended registration and titling transactions.

Files paperwork, and moves bulk volumes of registration renewals and other parcels to designated storage areas.

Answers incoming requests for information about boat registrations and/or boat titles received via mail, telephone, e-mail and/or fax from the general public, boating issuing agents, boat dealers, lien holders (financial institutions or other organizations that perfect a security interest in a boat), and others.

Perform other related duties as required.

Licensing and Registration questions should be directed to the immediate supervisor. If the immediate supervisor is not available, questions should be directed to the secondary supervisor, Division Manager, or Division Chief, respectively.
