Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. This position develops, coordinates, and implements aquatic resource and boating education programs within the Bureau of Outreach, Education and Marketing. Education programs support the agency’s mission, strategic plan, and R3 efforts (recruitment, retention, and reactivation of anglers and boaters) in Pennsylvania. This position covers the 10 counties in the Southeastern Pennsylvania (Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia, and Schuylkill). The position will also require travel to other regions for events as needed. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Education Programs: -Perform program planning responsibilities aimed at increasing safe participation in fishing, boating, and aquatic resource stewardship. These responsibilities include the development, coordination, promotion, preparation, delivery, and record keeping of education programs and services. -Provide programs through in-person and virtual formats focusing on fishing skills, boating safety, aquatic ecology, fisheries management, instructor level training, and certification courses. Audiences include formal and non-formal educators, school students, youth groups, adult groups, other agency staff, and the public. -Consistently implement best practices in education and public speaking. Develop new programs and improve existing programs to meet agency objectives. -Represent the agency at various large public gatherings and promotional events. Consistently engage with the public, media outlets, and others through oral and written communication to answer inquiries and provide information on the agency. -Generate lesson plans, curriculum, presentations, and other supporting materials, for both in-person and virtual formats. Assist and support agency staff in the development of educational resources, including content for the agency website, educational videos, publications, and other digital resources. As assigned, prepare text for use in reports, magazine articles, educational displays, exhibits, and other visual aids. -Inventory, maintain, and replenish region equipment. Coordinate region loaner equipment and materials for use by agency staff, volunteers, instructors, and other partners. -This position involves work outside of typical business hours and travel to other regions of Pennsylvania depending on program schedules. -Assist with and implement regional and state-wide initiatives, projects, and tasks as assigned. -Provide support to region education staff, instructors, agency partners, and volunteers engaged in aquatic resource and boating education program development and implementation of activities. This support includes planning and coordinating efforts for those conducting aquatic resource and boating education programs and services. Partner Organizations and Capacity Building: -Serve as agency liaison to organizations engaged in aquatic resource conservation, recreation, angler education, boating education, travel, and related tourism. Work collaboratively with other agencies and partner organizations to build capacity for education programs and services. -Recruit new partners for Fishing Skills Instructor certification and provide support to region Fishing Tackle Loaner Program sites in Pennsylvania. -Coordinate and implement instructor training, including but not limited to Basic Boating, Boating and Water Safety Awareness, and Fishing Skills Instructor certification programs. Provide support to program partners and agency instructors as needed. This position is eligible for part-time telework dependent upon work performance and operational needs. |

The employee’s work is guided by the agency’s mission, strategic plan, R3 efforts, and other initiatives as provided by their immediate supervisor or the Education Manager. |
