Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. This position is responsible for participating in and learning to perform a variety of assignments that work to ensure compliance of non-depository institutions. This position assists in identifying and making recommendations to correct deficiencies of non-depository institutions and assists in the enforcement of governing laws, regulations, and policies. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Performs less complex assignments under the supervision of a higher-level peer or supervisor and/or assists with components of more complex assignments. Participates in variety of practical on-the-job training assignments designed to further competency and develop skills. Assists in reviewing and investigating information and situations brought to the Compliance Office. Reviews and researches, through multiple avenues and portals, various documents, records, statements etc. in order to investigate issues, violations, and/or inquires. Situations can be brought to the Compliance Office by referrals from the Bureau of Examination, the Licensing Office, consumer complaints, internal research, etc. Assists in determining if a violation of law is present and makes recommendations for appropriate corrective or enforcement action if a violation is present. Appropriate action includes confirming cessation of unlicensed business, assisting in the negotiating and drafting of consent orders, non-consent orders, etc. Drafts written corrective or enforcement action. Identifies weaknesses, deficiencies, and violations of institutions. Makes suggestions to higher-level peers or supervisor for improvements or corrections. Learns the laws, regulations, and policies governing state licensed non-depository institutions, and learns to communicate with institutions on interpretation of laws, regulations, and policies. Reviews financial statements to assist in determining whether licensees are compliant with net worth requirements. Uses the internet and other sources to search for and identify potential unlicensed activity. Shares findings and recommends course of action to higher-level peer or supervisor. Updates various compliance logs, case notes, and The Portal. Answers telephone and email questions and inquiries as needed. Attends/participate in on-the-job training as well as training courses and conferences to develop and maintain required knowledge, competency, and skill. Performs other related duties as required. |
