Position Purpose:

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Conduct mobile patrols for long periods of time.
Possess an extensive knowledge of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, Crimes Code and Rules of Criminal Procedure.
Provide building security and related scan point duties.
Withstand prolong periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
Prepare cases and testify in court proceedings.
Make sound decisions and display good judgement.
Maintain Departmental required certifications: MPOETC, CPR, First Aid & AED, Defense Tactics, Tourniquet, Taser, OC and Handcuff techniques.
Proficient in conducting Vehicular & Pedestrian traffic control.
Conduct preliminary and follow-up criminal investigations.
Conduct accident investigations, complete required reports.
Exercise powers of arrest and can use physical force to apprehend and subdue arrestee(s).
Conducts crowd control;
Identify, analyze, respond and resolve problems within assigned post.
Respond to service requests in a courteous and professional manner displaying excellent communication skill.
Monitor the communication center receiving and dispatching calls for service, information requests, emergency notifications, etc. Making notification to fire, medical and any additional public safety services needed.
Handle/Discharge and Qualify with Departmental Firearms and Weapons.
Pull or carry accident, fire, or crime victims.
Performs other related duties as required.

Experience:

1. Applicants must be a United States citizen
2. Resident of Pennsylvania
3. Possess a Valid Class C PA Driver’s License (prior to appointment)
4. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire
5. Educational Requirement – Applicants must possess a high school diploma or a G.E.D.
6. MPOETC Act 120 certification.
