Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing support to the Area Manager in planning, organizing, and directing Income Maintenance programs for County Assistance Offices (CAOs) in an assigned geographic area. The work performed is of a professional nature and includes research, recommendations, consultation, technical assistance, direction, and support for the CAOs.

The employee in this position is required to exercise initiative and a high degree of independent judgement in performing the duties.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Examples of work include:

- Provides consultation and direction to the CAOs in program implementation to
include Cash, SNAP, Medical Assistance, the Low Income Home Energy
Assistance Program, Employment and Training Program, and all other programs
administered through the CAOs.

- Assists Area Manager in planning and conducting area meetings.

- Acts as liaison for the CAOs with the Office of Legal Counsel and other
Headquarter Bureaus to obtain advice and direction on issues that are raised by
the CAOs.

- Represents the Office of Income Maintenance (OIM), Operations, on various
Headquarter Workgroups, to provide input and reports on workgroup
activities/plans to Operations and Field Management staff.

- Monitors CAOs’ operational performance, alerts the Area Manager of potential
problems in program implementation and assists CAOs in Corrective Action.

- Meets with CAO staff to provide information, share ideas, or resolve problems.

- Maintains and analyzes statistical and other data on CAOs, to provide input to
the Area Manager so that decisions on staffing, organizational structure, the
need for overtime, etc. can be made.

- Responds to correspondence, audits, surveys, and other requests for information.
