Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Provides multiple management and support of the Lottery’s Powerball/Double Play, Mega Millions, and Cash4Life drawings – to provide for 1) dual entry of key game data into the Game Management online computer system (GMS) and dual verification of all specific information disseminated through our Internal Control System (ICS), internal reports and PA Lottery web site; 2) data security in the event of computer system imbalance conditions (LDA); 3) interface with personnel from our on-line computer services vendor, our ICS group, the Multi-State Lottery Assn.(MUSL), 9Rooftops, and other state Lotteries, all to ensure the accurate and timely completion and reporting on the results and financial information regarding each drawing with minimal supervision.

Powerball/Double Play Drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from *9:30pm-12:30am
Mega Millions drawings are held on Tuesday and Friday from *9:30pm-12:30am
Cash4Life drawings are held Sunday through Saturday from *8:30pm-10:30pm
*Game times are approximate and may end earlier or later than stated above.

Lottery Drawings are held 365 days a year and are considered an Essential function.
PPTAO1 Drawing Officials are considered Essential Employees and are required to arrive at the worksite as scheduled regardless of Agency or Commonwealth Closures. This position requires working weekends, holidays and/or traveling during adverse weather conditions. Officials are expected to remain onsite until the drawing(s) are complete, or until otherwise instructed by management.

As the Headquarters and/or Coordinator for each drawing:

1. Performs Lottery Headquarters (HQ) or Coordinator Official (C/O) duties for all MUSL and multi-state Games in which the Pennsylvania lottery participates.
2. If needed, execute LDA procedures in the event of a game imbalance.
3. Utilize the appropriate checklist for the Lottery HQ and/or C/O to maintain the integrity of the Pennsylvania Lottery games.
4. Verifies that all Games are in CLOSED status via the GMS Terminal, which ensures that ticket sales by retailers for that particular drawing have been shut off
5. Receives and verifies information relating to that evening’s drawing.
6. Receives and balances game winner and payout reports from GMS and ICS systems. Enters verified Payout Results either to the MUSL or multi-state group.
7. Enters verified results on the IVR automated telephone system which is used by the public to retrieve winning numbers.
8. Enters verified winning numbers and payout information on Lottery web site; confirms this information entered by the HQ Official is correct. Review and correct any errors.
9. Verify that all games are in PAYING status via GMS, to allow retailers to immediately pay winning tickets.
10. Verify winning numbers and prize payout information on various retailer reports. Review and correct errors.
11. Update Lottery terminal messages to enable our retail outlets to view and report to the public new and current jackpot information.
Performs other Related Duties as required which may include required fill in as the evening drawing HQ official.

The incumbent performs the above duties with a moderate degree of independence and communicates with the Supervisors and the Director of Security as necessary. Incumbent must follow established policies, procedures, guidelines and exhibit sound judgment in problem solving and decision making. Inform the Drawings Manager, Assistant Drawings Manager, and/or Director of Security of any drawing related problems and document the decisions made by the appropriate supervisor.
