Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. Internships at Ohiopyle State Park will provide experiences in park management, GIS, environmental education, recreation programming, invasive species, general facilities operation and maintenance, emergency response and other park related experiences. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Intern will assist park staff in facilitating public programming and educational programs. This will include gathering materials, helping facilitators, and assisting with aquatic activities. Provide friendly visitor contact in the Ohiopyle Visitor Center. Assist with preparation and execution of trail days and large events. Will participate in the active treatment of invasive species on both land and water. Intern will also assist with any GIS collection or research of park history. Ability to determine which park personnel to contact incase of emergency and when to contact 911. |
