Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Perform skilled carpentry tasks in accordance with standard practices of the trade in order to alter, repair, and/or maintain buildings, floors, walls, roofs, roof vents, flashing, guttering, walls, exterior siding, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, wood fixtures, and furniture. Interpret engineered drawings, sketches, and plans. Erect and work off scaffolding in a secure and safe manner. Operate power machinery, equipment, and tools associated with the carpentry trade such as table saws, radial arm saws, planers, routers, sanders, and drill presses. Operate power pack tools such as circular saws, reciprocating saws, jig saws, drills, grinders, and other power source related equipment. Exercise proficiency with all hand tools and measuring instruments. Maintain tools and equipment to include care, cleaning, sharpening, repair, and preventative maintenance with accountability for all assigned equipment and related accessories. Install drywall, tape, spackle, and finish as required for renovation projects and repair of damaged areas. Apply paint and similar products to walls, ceilings, finish trim materials, and staircases. Paint exterior of buildings where paint is required. Replace lamps/light bulbs as required. Install water delivery lines, valves, fixtures, and waste lines in buildings when required. Maintain fixtures and flushing systems and perform plumbing preventative maintenance. Ensure that fixtures and waste lines are free of debris and that no restrictions exist. Open clogged toilets, sinks, tubs, shower stalls, and waste lines as needed. Operate and set-up Bobcat, ToolCat, and Skid-steer utility vehicles and related attachments as well as operate other related equipment. Ensure working conditions are safe and work areas are clean and organized. Perform work in accordance with the DMVA general safety rules and safety rules for this position. Immediately report all workplace injuries or incidents to the supervisor; and/or immediately correct any safety hazards in the work area or report same to supervisor. **Must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.** Perform other related duties as required. |
