Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position requires the operation of drill rig equipment that is assigned to this operator level and the performance of a variety of manual laboring duties on a drill crew.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Operates equipment such as truck with and without trailers, drill rig equipment, water truck, and electric drill.

Maintains required Commercial Driver’s License (Class A CDL) with air brake restriction removed and tank vehicle endorsements (N) needed to operate equipment on which trained and certified, including a minimum of heavy truck loader. Properly performs and documents all required pre-and post-operations checks in accordance with Department and legal requirements on a daily basis. This position is subject and alcohol testing in accordance with federal regulations.

Performs all necessary field adjustments to permit safe operation and minimize wear. Performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance work on equipment which includes cleaning and servicing equipment. Demonstrates operation of assigned equipment to other employees. Assists Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanics in making minor repairs to equipment. Maintains equipment records.

Experience:

1. Valid Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License with the Air Brake Restriction (L) removed.
2. Successfully pass a practical exam in the operation of equipment with a manual transmission.
3. Tank Vehicle Endorsement (N).
4. Valid operation certification for heavy truck and loader.
5. Active Medical Examiner’s Certificate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations

Essential Functions

 1. Operate trucks, drills, and other equipment; perform any safety-related checks/tests on assigned equipment.
 2. Read, write, speak, and comprehend clearly in English language. Perform mathematic and trigonometric functions . Use personal computer.
 3. Maneuver safely around moving traffic and construction equipment. Traverse various types of terrain, such as steep slopes and uneven terrain.
 4. React immediately to hazard warning devices, such as signs, sirens and alarms.
 5. Use required personal protective equipment and be responsible for its care, storage, and maintenance.
 6. Sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, reach, crawl, twist and climb; lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
 7. Withstand periods of heavy exertion
 8. Tolerate exposure to noise, outdoors, adverse weather conditions, various plants and insects, and chemicals within Safety Data Sheet (SDS) limits.
 9. Operate various hand and power tools which may involve constant periodic vibration.
