Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. The purpose of this position is to assist in providing LMR support for the PA-STARNet Motorola ASTRO land mobile radio (LMR) system. Assists the Statewide Radio Network Division (SRND), Radio Operations Engineering & Support (ROES) section with LMR system process improvements and readiness. Works as a team member of the ROES team. Interfaces with other agencies and external customers as needed. Gathers and evaluates radio system information for coverage and enhancement possibilities. Help with implementing Motorola Technical Bulleting (MTNs). Troubleshoots radio system components as required for PA-STARNet. Uses specialized radio software and hardware to investigate issues on the system. |

Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. 25% Assists with system support functions and projects. Assists with troubleshooting infrastructure components and addresses coverage issues in Motorola ASTRO system. 20% Assists with radio subscriber testing, programming, and troubleshooting. 15% Assists with the implementation of Motorola Technical Bulletins (MTNs) on the radio system components as required to ensure compliance and security. Aids in radio system hardware implementations, configurations and swap outs. 10% Assist with system coverage issues. 15% Assists with radio hardware and software installs and configuration. 5% Assist with LMR technical design documentation. 5% Prepares and maintains PA-STARNet LMR system documentation as needed. 5% Performs other related duties as required. |
