Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Assist park staff in various projects while gaining experience in Park Operations, Resource Management, Administration and Environmental Education.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Intern will work at Oil Creek State Park and assist other Parks and Regional Office with environmental education, inspections and projects.

Work/assist Environmental education and program preparation for school groups and general public. Assist with programming as needed.

Engage with the visiting public through contacts both in the office and field. Provide outstanding customer service to ensure a memorable visit.

Work with park and region staff to learn how to manage a park's natural resources, which includes the preparation, maintenance and adherence to a park's resource management plans.

Work with park to identify and treat various invasive species throughout the park.

Assists in preparing draft press releases to inform the public and others of park activities, programs, schedules, and special events.

Assist with special events and work with volunteers.

Participate in park inspections as time permits.

Wear personal protection equipment where required.

Operate a state vehicle from work headquarters to various parks.

May be required to perform other special work as necessary.

Complete/obtain any needed trainings or clearances.

Weekend and Holiday work is required.
