Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. This position is responsible for coverage of the call center within the Division of Licensing and Registration, Bureau of Administration. This includes, but is not limited to, phone support for customer inquiries pertaining to the sale of fishing licenses, the completion of boat registration and/or titling applications, the sale of a variety of promotional merchandise, and researching transactions and entries to best resolve the customer’s inquiry. Answers incoming requests for information about boat registrations and/or boat titles received via mail, telephone, e-mail and/or fax from the general public, boating issuing agents, boat dealers, lien holders (financial institutions or other organizations that perfect a security interest in a boat), and others. Assists customers and the general public with inquiries pertaining to the Commission and transfers calls or messages to other Bureaus as appropriate. Provides support for the Commission’s boat registration and title processing responsibilities during times when call volume is at a lower level. Serves as a support person selling fishing licenses at external events. Audits, reviews, and processes boat registration and boat title application forms and related ownership documents. Reviews application forms and related ownership documents for content, completeness, accuracy, and to ensure that the appropriate taxes and fees are calculated and remitted. Identifies, investigates, and resolves moderately complex registration and titling discrepancies, and identifies and assists with the release of registration and titling suspends. Applies Commonwealth laws and Commission regulations and policies that govern the establishment, issuance, correction, duplication, and cancellation of boat registrations, boat titles or lien holder accounts, and fishing licenses and permits. Provides data entry services for a wide range of boat registration and boat title application transactions. Maintains and reconciles a RATS drawer on a daily basis. Searches boat ownership information archive filing system and retrieves documents, forms, and records. Operates microfilm reader/printer to research boat ownership history for boats registered and/or titled in Pennsylvania. Photocopies documents when required and as directed. Files work on a daily basis and maintains their suspends folder within the rolling files. Matches follow-up and customer supplied auxiliary documents with suspended registration and titling transactions. Retrieves, sorts and distributes facsimiles. Files paperwork, and moves bulk volumes of registration renewals and other parcels to designated storage areas. Provides support in the sale of fishing licenses as required. Perform other related duties as required. |
