Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Performs oversight and monitoring of assigned design project through all phases of development, let, and final completion ensuring adherence to all policies, regulations, and guidelines. You will be required to coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, community stakeholders, and government agencies to deliver infrastructure projects that improves safety and mobility.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Reviews assigned projects to develop a comprehensive plan, specification and estimate (PSE&E) package submission.

Monitors assigned projects from inception through construction to ensure compliance to design commitments, environmental commitments, etc.

Assists with various tasks to monitor and develop projects in compliance with projected Let Schedules.

Assists in the development and manipulation of the let schedule and manage the development of projects through the project development process.

Inputs and maintains project submission information in PPCC/PDCC to ensure information is routed, tracked, and has current status information to avoid missed or delayed submission deadlines.

Reviews and monitors the project schedule including that project tasks are completed in order and on time to the established project timelines.

Monitors consultant project agreements to ensure supplements and work orders are timely.

Operates a motor vehicle to arrive at & attend project meetings including project plans display meetings.

Provides accurate and current project information at project delivery meetings including past due submissions.

Tracks project submissions to ensure prompt review time.

Provides project information reports at scheduled intervals.

Assists in consultant selection, assignment, project management and PS&E preparation and agreement management through the ECMS, and ECS systems in a proactive fashion to ensure timely completion of assigned projects.

Drafts correspondence and replies to inquires as needed.

Assist with partners, agencies and consultants in monitoring project schedule development.

Performs other related duties assigned.

Succession Planning:
Take an active role in succession planning by completing a Career Development Plan in collaboration with the supervisor. In conjunction with the supervisor, participate in knowledge management/transfer by identifying key aspects of the job and sharing explicit and tacit program/technical knowledge with other employees.

Department Green Plan Policy:
Commit to following the Departments Green Plan Policy (Pub 712) and the associated principals. Failure to comply with Department Green Plan Policy shall be documented in employee’s performance review.

Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA):
Unless directed otherwise by your supervisor or manager, comply with stated work hours for the 7.5/8.0-hour day.

Decision Making:
Describe the types of decisions made by the incumbent of this position and the types of decisions referred to others. Identify the problems or issues that can be resolved at the level of this position, versus those that must be referred to the supervisor. Example: In response to a customer inquiry, this work involves researching the status of an activity and preparing a formal response for the supervisor’s signature.

Direction is received from Supervisor in the form of goals, objectives, performance measures and project timetables (i.e. let schedules). Considerable amount of independence (within reason) is granted in selecting the methodologies and strategies required to meet these goals and objectives. Results are measured by attainment of these goals and by measured performance reviewed on a quarterly basis.

Work requiring immediate review is reviewed by Supervisor. Much of the work is reviewed quarterly and the review is based on performance and results achieved.

Assistant Project Managers have the authority to approve consultant invoices and initiate funding approval requests (4232's & ID-21) and funding shortfall requests (i-e. PMC- requests).
