Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Provides clerical support within the Snowmobile and All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Registration Unit.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Responsible for processing all applications for title and/or registration for Snowmobiles and ATVs received by the Commonwealth.

Review new applications for completeness and correctness. Make inquiries into any discrepancy found in vehicle identification number (VIN), registration number, applicant information, or other details when reviewing applications for processing. Incumbent to follow established procedures regarding resolution of the issue in question.

Assign vehicle registration numbers to new applicants as requested.

Process check payments accompanying applications accurately.

Print and reconcile a Dealer Report summary of checks received daily.

Assist in proofreading all processed applications for accuracy and completeness prior to mailing.

Notify Clerical Supervisor 2 promptly when a mistake in processing is discovered for immediate resolution.

Provide customer service in person at the counter window and through telephone contact as assigned.

ATV applications are processed (including input, proofing and mailing) at a rate of 45 applications per day or 225 a week based on a five day work week.

Provide daily documentation of work activities to Clerical Supervisor 2.

Maintain secure workplace as it relates to checks, title paper, and other materials necessary to perform work duties.

Assist with opening and processing incoming and outgoing mail as instructed.

Assist in all other related duties affiliated with the Unit.

Responsible for making accurate decisions and providing appropriate responses to general questions relating to the handling and/or transfer of Snowmobile and ATV titles and registrations. For inquiries requiring a written response or certified documentation, incumbent will gather required information and give it to the Clerical Supervisor 2 for proper handling.
