The Graphic Designer 2 contributes to enhancing the visual communication strategies of the department through creative artwork and design expertise. The Graphic Designer 2 is responsible for performing prepress duties of customer supplied files. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE - REQUIRED TO REPORT TO WORK DURING EMERGENCIES AND OFFICE CLOSINGS Designs complex graphic art for various signage projects within the Sign Shop. Collaborate with departmental stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and target audience. Interpret conceptual ideas and translate them into visually compelling designs that effectively convey intended messages. Utilize digital illustration software and traditional art techniques to create high-quality artwork. Ensure adherence to brand guidelines, standards, and specifications in all artwork produced. Select appropriate colors, materials, and formats to ensure the signage is visually appealing and effective. Operate various sign shop-specific equipment like flatbed printers, routers, vinyl plotters, and laser engravers. Participate in the installation of display graphics. Perform handwork activities with various substrates for display graphic building. Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide creative input for signage projects. Maintain organized files and documentation of artwork for future reference and archival purposes. Stay updated on industry trends, design techniques, software advancements, and prepress activities relevant to illustration and graphic design. Assist in the preparation of production-ready files and collaborate with print vendors as needed. Assist in the selection and procurement of art supplies and materials for projects. Work closely with the Sign Shop team to ensure the timely completion of projects and adherence to quality standards. |
