Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Perform tasks related to air quality planning technical and background work to support Bureau and Division staff with Air Quality (AQ) emission inventories; provide environmental planning support and analysis for the development of future year inventory projections; note taking and technical writing related to relevant DEP advisory committee activities for the Division; research impacts associated with air quality regulatory program implementation; collect air quality data to assist air quality program specialists and mangers in state implementation planning; support technical administrative activities related to mobile source grant and incentive programs; and generating and organizing AQ data as assigned.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Provides support for the air quality training program by coordinating and communicating training offerings to air quality staff; assisting Bureau staff in training planning and scheduling; monitoring status of air quality training plans and obtaining feedback on training offerings to continuously improve training content.

Researches and assists with the development of AQ planning emissions inventories and analysis and organizes data into meaningful forms for use by DEP, the public, regulated communities, and other state and federal partners.

Assist with tracking and reporting technical activities and accounting transactions related to mobile source grant and incentive program administration and operations.

Assist Division staff by reviewing, processing, and routing air quality documents related to implementation of Commonwealth regulatory and federal implementation planning requirements in adherence with applicable federal and state law and Commonwealth policies and procedures.

Work closely with EPA, the Mid-Atlantic Air Management Association (MARAMA) and other multi-state non-government organizations (NGOs) to coordinate the scheduling and possible funding of training.

Participate in training opportunities and meetings, occasionally traveling as required, to maintain necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform assigned duties.

Input appropriate data in a prescribed format to meet data quality standards set forth by guidance, training and policy across all of DEP’s electronic data systems to include ensuring accuracy and completeness of entries and, where available, the use of system specific tools to ensure duplicative entries and data quality issues are minimized.

Participate in continuous improvement projects to recommend and implement program or operational improvement opportunities.

Performs related work as required.

The EP1 will report to the Program Manager when necessary to seek additional instructions and guidance.

Makes decisions for assigned functions within policies and recommends actions to supervisor if outside the scope of existing policies.

Decisions that could have significant impact on program operations are discussed with the supervisor prior to acting.
