Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position is responsible for the preparation and ongoing development of program training and a variety of services to meet organizational, and development needs to Department of State staff and county election offices on the proper administration and application of election-related policy and processes. This position will also evaluate and support the planning and implementation of business needs in election administration by analyzing and recommending changes and participating in requirements gathering and user acceptance testing.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Evaluates training sessions, plans, executes, and adapts training to meet organizational needs.

Prepares and develops training programs, plans and materials including instructional presentations, tutorials, and other training aids.

Comprehends various program functions and integrates them into training programs, plans, and materials.

Works closely with the Division of Election Security and Technology to develop and implement training materials for counties regarding election administration and technology.

Collect data, assess needs and provide alternatives to management and recipients of training.

Identifies training and development objectives for county election staff, department staff and the public.

Provides classroom and/or clinical instruction in assigned areas/programs. Develop course outlines and lesson plans.

Facilitate training sessions with county election offices and Department of State personnel.

Organizes training events virtual and in-person county election staff, department staff and voters geared towards the functions of election administration


Independently evaluate and revise established training programs or modify training programs to meet customer needs with a focus on entry level skills and continued education development.

Assist in the development or maintenance of user and client documentation such as planning documents, policies and procedures, manuals, and forms.

Apply research techniques to gather necessary information to make recommendations for changes or improvements.

Take, respond to and properly escalate requests for support from county election offices, voters, and Department of State personnel.

Monitors and advises counties as to changes to laws and technology pertaining to election administration.

Prepare reports, tables, charts, and graphs to make recommendations for improving program area operations as it pertains to training.

Performs special projects and other duties as required or assigned.
