Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. The employee in this position is responsible and accountable for attending and completing offsite training in order to be certified as a Nurse Aide. Nurse Aides are responsible for providing basic health care needs for assigned residents in support of the overall goal to provide the highest quality of care and services to our residents in order to assist them in achieving their full potential at the veterans home and in the community. |
Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Within 3 months attend formal classroom training sessions and receive on-the-job training assignments in order to develop knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes necessary to provide non-professional rehabilitative nursing care and treatment for residents. Classroom training entails activities such as reading assignments, listening to lectures, watching films, observing demonstrations, and role playing. Employees receive clinical site training in hands-on non-professional direct care methods, techniques, and procedures. As knowledge and skills are acquired, further developmental assignments are given in actual work situations. Maintain and improve job skills by participating in and attending staff training programs in order to improve the quality of resident care. Make rounds with personnel at beginning and end of shift. Maintain a safe environment in resident rooms by removing and addressing hazards such as electrical cords, personal effects, and other obstacles. Assist resident with room tidiness, |
