Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position supports the Assistant Chief of the Division of Election Administration with operations, including candidate nomination petitions and papers. This position serves as the lead of the Bureau’s County Liaison program.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

1. Serves as the lead liaison for and facilitates the county liaison program.
2. Conducts weekly liaison staff meetings and trainings.
3. Prepares the weekly newsletter for the county liaison program.
4. Serves as a liaison to assigned counties.
5. Monitors the election calendar for upcoming statutory and administrative deadlines related to election administration for the Bureau of Elections.
6. Prepares memorandums, email communications, and related documents to communicate with the counties regarding upcoming election administration deadlines as established by the Election Code.
7. Coordinates the nomination paper filing process with oversight of the Assistant Division Chief.
8. Prepares and reviews nomination materials and information distributed to candidates.
9. Prepares training materials related to nomination petitions and nomination paper filing.
10. Conducts nomination petitions and nomination paper filing.
11. Researches applicable federal and state laws and guidelines as necessary to ensure proper compliance.
12. Monitors forms related to election administration, makes recommendations regarding needed updates to those forms. Assists Division leadership with updating forms as necessary.
13. Reviews existing and proposed federal policies; develops and implements those new policies as appropriate and evaluates existing federal legislation and regulations.
14. Studies and analyzes administrative operations and problems, prepares detailed and comprehensive reports of findings and recommendations.
15. Prepares data and reports regarding candidate nominations and election results.
16. Reviews the Bureau’s webpage and recommends both temporary and permanent changes.
17. Prepares training materials regarding accessible balloting.
18. Performs other duties as required.
