Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Functions as the Troop Procurement and Supply Officer by ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining records for the clothing, and equipment. Purchases office supplies, other items not available through Central Supply; to include services and automotive supply needs of the Troop.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

25% Maintains an adequate stock of enlisted clothing, limited police equipment, office supplies, and automotive supplies by monitoring inventory usage; receiving and reviewing requests for supplies and equipment; requisitioning supplies from the Department’s Central Supply Section; receiving, storing, and distributing supply items; and posting records of supply receipts and issues. This includes handling various types of firearms and ammunition.

15% Maintains an adequate supply of items not in Central Supply by securing bidders for purchases and contracts, inspecting goods received from vendors to ensure quantity and quality in relation to prescribed specifications, and making minor purchases when authorized.

15% Responsible for monitoring Purchase Orders for various products and services within the Troop. Communicates with various vendors and establish customer relations; to include PSP Fiscal Unit and Procurement and Supply Divisions. Creates Agency Requisitions when applicable; maintains records of purchases utilizing an issued Purchasing Card by tracking, reconciling, and submitting monthly statements.

15% Maintains accurate and up-to-date records regarding clothing, badges, firearms, soft body armor and other items issued or exchanged to/with Troop personnel. Assists Troop personnel in fitting of equipment and clothing items. Disposes of unserviceable uniforms and equipment in conformance with Department Directives.

10% Conducts initial and annual inspection of fixed inventories of nonexpendable property; initiates property transactions; monitors and controls internal property locations and movements; maintains inventory control file; and updates and verifies the accuracy of property tracking reports. Assists in determining if fixed inventory should be condemned, repaired, or replaced.

10% Physically loads and unloads supplies and equipment onto/from trucks/vans; operates Department vehicles and transports supplies and equipment to/from Department Headquarters, Troop Headquarters, and stations; and rearranges stock items as necessary to add new supplies in proper order.

5% Provides supplies for incidents/emergencies by determining what is needed, loading the van, transporting to the scene, and distributing required equipment and supplies.

5% Performs other related work as required.
