Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. The Outreach Coordinator supports the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s mission to manage and protect wildlife and their habitats while promoting hunting and trapping by planning, delivering, and evaluating outreach that builds public understanding, trust, and participation. This role coordinates large scale agency outreach events that involve but are not limited to R3 (Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation) strategies; conservation educational programs and events; strengthens partnerships with communities, schools, conservation groups, and stakeholders; and amplifies agency communications through presentations, digital content, and volunteer engagement. This position works closely with the Bureau of Marketing & Strategic Communications and the Communications & Legislative Office to plan, coordinate and conduct outreach events on behalf of the Agency. This position will also work closely with regional education staff in all six PGC Regions to advise and support regional outreach events. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Events & Community Engagement - Program manager for all major outreach events ran out the bureau included but not limited to the PA Farm Show, the Great American Outdoor Show, PA Flower Show, Elk Expo, and assistance with other large events like National Archery in the Schools Program annual championship. - Coordinate logistics for outreach events, public meetings, workshops, and partner-led activities (venue, materials, permits, accessibility, risk management, contracts etc.), with administrative assistance. - Represent PGC at fairs, festivals, and stakeholder gatherings; provide agency information and respond to questions in coordination with Regional staff. Partnership & Stakeholder Relations - Creates programmatic guidance and training for regional personnel for regional outreach events. Examples include but are not limited to booth display and ordering, set up and target audience training, as well as evaluating programs post event. - Maintain statewide working relationships with schools, NGOs, sportsmen’s clubs, conservation districts, municipal bodies, tribal entities (where applicable), and community groups to expand reach in the regions. - Draft simple partnership agreements or MOUs using approved templates and route for review. Program Delivery & Education - Plan and deliver outreach programs (e.g., wildlife conservation, hunter education adjunct activities, habitat stewardship, conflict-prevention with wildlife such as BearWise and Elk Smart, etc.) for diverse audiences, including youth, adults, and underserved communities. - Align program content with PGC strategic objectives, key agency messaging, R3 priorities, and current regulations. Communications & Digital Outreach - Assist social media and digital communications team in the Bureau of Marketing with clear, audience-appropriate materials (presentations, handouts, social posts, short videos) consistent with agency brand and messaging. - Coordinate with the agency’s Communications & Legislative Office to amplify key campaigns, create messaging; track basic metrics (reach, engagement, attendance). - Work with the Bureau of Marketing and Strategic Communications on promotion and design for key outreach programs. Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement - Work with human dimensions specialist to attain attendance and participant feedback; analyze basic metrics to assess program effectiveness and R3 outcomes. - Prepare monthly/quarterly reports; recommend improvements to content, delivery, and targeting. Operational Support - Assist with monitoring outreach inventories (displays, giveaway items, promo items, etc.) - Purchase for or advise regions on outreach display needs for consistency (tablecloths, pop-up tents, etc.) including providing trainings for events as needed. - Advise division chief on division budget for outreach materials and submit purchase requests within budget parameters. - Process routine invoices, travel claims, and event expenses; ensure compliance with all Commonwealth policies. Special Projects - Coordinate the Working Together for Wildlife Program and annual art contest as well as the annual Waterfowl Management Stamp - Contest to include identifying the featured species, developing the contest rules, coordinating the submission process, establishing selection criteria, forming a judges panel, contacting winners and non-winners, processing payment to winners, publicizing winners, and coordinating the sale of any winning prints. Performs all other duties as needed. |

Requirements Profile: Identify any specific experience or requirements, such as a licensure, registration, or certification, which may be necessary to perform the functions of the position. Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Record Check (PSP); and 3. DHS Finger-based FBI Criminal History Background Check (DHS FBI). Employment clearances must be renewed every six (6) months 1. Professional experience in event planning, communications, public relations, or social media management fields 2. Organized and able to handle multiple tasks 3. Passion for wildlife and habitat conservation, outdoor recreation, hunting and trapping. 4. Experience coordinating volunteers or working with schools/community organizations.
