This position will receive relevant on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and assignments aimed at developing proficiency in marketing and analyzing the sale of wine, spirit beverages, and accessories for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. THIS POSITION PERFORMS ASSIGNED DUTIES UNDER CLOSE SUPERVISORY OVERSIGHT. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. WORK INVOLVES EXPOSURE AND TRAINING IN A VARIETY OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS AND FUNCTIONAL AREAS: WINE MANAGEMENT DIVISION Learns to assist with coordinating the buying and allocation of wine products, including supporting the development of new product listings, one-time buys, and retail pricing recommendations. Assists with reviewing product performance data and learns the process for identifying wines that may be recommended for delisting based on established category management goals. Supports senior staff in the wholesale purchasing and retail marketing of wine products for stores and expanded permit locations. Learns and assists with the coordination of highly visible purchasing programs and specialty wine offerings, including exposure to the Chairman’s Selection Program. Assists with the buying and distribution processes for high-end wine products while gaining knowledge of allocation and inventory controls. Provides support to stores by responding to routine inquiries and escalating complex issues to higher-level staff. Develops subject-matter knowledge in the purchase, handling, and sale of luxury wine products through training, observation, and guided experience. SPIRITS MANAGEMENT DIVISION Applies the principles of category management and consumer point-of-purchase activities to learn to analyze product and sales data to assist with retail pricing recommendations for spirits. Learns to assist with coordinating the buying and allocation processes for spirits, including supporting the development of new product listings, one-time buys, and preliminary retail pricing recommendations. Assists with reviewing product performance data and learns the process for identifying spirits that may be recommended for delisting based on established category management goals. Provides support for wholesale purchasing and retail marketing activities for spirits and FWGS stores, following established guidelines and direction from senior staff. MISCELLANEOUS Prepares and presents the findings/results of studies or projects orally, to an individual or group, and explains the rationale/judgment used in arriving at that conclusion. Prepares and presents reports, offering recommendations on a variety of relative topics. Provides quality customer service to external vendors, suppliers, and/or sales staff.
