Position Purpose:

This position serves as a Product and Supply Analyst Trainee and will participate in a structured 12-month training program. This position will receive relevant on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and assignments aimed at developing proficiency in the processing, forecasting, acquisition, pricing, and distribution of products for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

THIS POSITION PERFORMS ASSIGNED DUTIES UNDER CLOSE SUPERVISORY OVERSIGHT.

WORK INVOLVES EXPOSURE AND TRAINING IN A VARIETY OF INVENTORY MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS AND FUNCTIONAL AREAS:


FORECASTING AND PLANNING DIVISION
Assists in the review, analysis, and reporting of forecasting statistics across the Fine Wine & Good Spirits channel and the licensees who purchase there.

Participates in the investigation and correction of forecast errors.

Assists with the implementation of corrective actions to help resolve transactional issues that affect inventory accuracy.

PRODUCT AND PROCUREMENT DIVISION
Participates in activities to assist with purchasing and planning the movement of merchandise from suppliers, freight forwarders, or manufacturers to distribution centers.

Supports inventory management activities by helping track products and learning to apply replenishment strategies based on shipping point, sales velocity, transportation mode, lead time, and target service levels.

Learns about and assists with activities related to oversight of the Bailment Program.

REPLENISHMENT DIVISION
Learns to monitor the rate at which products are sold at each store to help determine standard product velocity.

Assists in supporting automatic replenishment processes to help maintain appropriate inventory levels across multiple product codes and store categories.

Supports the management of store delivery schedules and helps track the allocation of merchandise from distribution centers to Fine Wine & Good Spirit stores.

BUREAU OF WHOLESALE OPERATIONS
Learns to assist with activities related to ordering, processing, and delivering products.

Observes and participates in customer engagement services to support licensed retailers, providing customer service when necessary.

Assists in understanding and applying policies and procedures that support operational needs and agency goals.

Learns to participate in strategic account reviews to help identify opportunities to support licensees and maintain agency profitability.

MISCELLANEOUS
Participates in and/or assists in the performance of other related duties.

Prepares and presents reports, offering recommendations on a variety of relative topics.
