Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. This is work assisting in the planning and development of wildlife education programs and activities in the Northeast Region. Provide wildlife education programs to schools, conservation organizations, community groups, and interested parties throughout the ten counties of the Northeast Region of the state. |
Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. This is fieldwork under the supervision of the NE Region Information and Education Supervisor (SGW Supervisor). The work will include but not be limited to the following: Represent the PA Game Commission at wildlife centric programs as needed. Conduct and assist the teacher pre-service and in-service training programs for schools and post-secondary institutions on a variety of topics including but not limited to Project Wild, Growing Up Wild, PA Songbirds, PA Biodiversity, Project Learning Tree, Wildlife Forensics, and various species-specific programs like Wild about elk, turkey, and deer. Assist the NE Region Information and Education Supervisor and State Game Wardens with setting up and working exhibits. This includes interacting with the public and other interested parties by providing information and answering inquiries related to wildlife conservation and PGC programs. Assist regional employees with scheduling, coordinating, and implementing educational and training programs. Assist with N.A.S.P. (National Archery in the Schools Program), Junior Game Warden Camp, and mentored hunting opportunities in the region. Assist in development of education materials for events, visitor center information, etc. to add to the resource library. Assist with volunteer programs and recruiting volunteers. Record and edit informational videos and photos related to agency business for use in a variety of applications such as Game News, social media, etc. Prepare virtual learning materials. Assist with the Northeast Region Facebook and social media. Assist with regional marketing, outreach, and communication. Develop relationships with regional NGO Chapters. Assist the Northeast Region Information and Education Supervisor (IES) and State Game Wardens with region Hunter and Trapper Educational needs. Perform other related duties as assigned. |
