Position Purpose:

The employee in this position supports the operations and responsibilities of the Alzheimer's, Dementia and Related Disorders Office (ADRD) Office and provides professional and administrative support and coordination to the ADRD Advisory Committee, ADRD Office Director, and Office Supervisor in meeting their responsibilities as mandated by Act 111.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Support the ADRD Office in the overall operations and performance of the implementation of Act 111 ensuring that the Office runs efficiently and effectively in accordance with its mission, vision, and statutory responsibilities.

Provide staff support in the drafting, implementation, and evaluation of the Alzheimer’s State Plan, and other annual reports.

Assist in the implementation of state policies related to Alzheimer’s and dementia care, ensuring alignment with federal and state regulations. Track policy progress and ensure that key milestones are met.

Engage with public health efforts and healthy aging activities on ways to support individuals with dementia and caregivers.

Collaborate with local agencies, community-based organizations, and healthcare providers to ensure successful program implementation.

Establish and maintain relationships with other agencies and organizations in the community to meet community needs and prevent duplication of services.

Regular travel within the Commonwealth is required to conduct site visits, attend meetings, provide technical assistance, deliver training, and represent the ADRD Office at conferences, community events, and stakeholder engagements.

Participate in public speaking engagements to share information about dementia-related programs, policies, and initiatives with diverse audiences, including community groups, stakeholders, and partner organizations.

Administer programs that provide services and support to individuals with dementia, including program performance, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Assess the effectiveness of dementia programs and services by gathering feedback from stakeholders, including ADRD Advisory Committee members, nonprofit organizations, the medical community, and aging network.

Identify training opportunities on dementia-specific topics for service providers, community organizations, and Commonwealth agencies (human services, law enforcement, etc.).

Maintain and apply knowledge of current developments and trends in the assigned area of expertise by reading appropriate journals, books and other professional literature and attending related conferences, seminars and training.

Work collaboratively with Director and Aging Services Supervisor to identify grant opportunities and application requirements to secure funding.

Perform other related work as directed.
