Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position supports DCNR’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) efforts across the agency. This is a wage position created to assist the DEIB Director for 9 months. The focus of this position is to assist the DEIB Director in advancing DCNR’s mission, vision, and goals through resource development and management. Resources will be used to equip all DCNR Bureaus and Offices with the skills needed to increase and advance programs and services that serve all Pennsylvanians, thereby meeting DCNR’s mission as outlined in Act 18 and Article 1, Section 27 of the Commonwealth’s Constitution. The position works closely and collaboratively with the DEIB Director and the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEIB) team to assure DCNR is meeting established DEIB goals.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Assist the DEIB Director in advancing DCNR’s DEIB mission and goals by managing the DCNR DEIB Intranet Page. This will include, but is not limited to, regularly assessing the needs of the page, and making changes when appropriate and developing and/or updating page content which may require, at times, coordination with the DEIB Director, DEIB Team, and DCNR staff.

Conduct ongoing research and develop, and/or maintain resources designed to advance DCNR staff DEIB understanding. This may include but is not limited to researching DEIB trends in conservation and updating the agency inclusive language guide.

Interacts with coworkers, partners, and other stakeholders to gather information and act as a liaison for the DEIB Director. Provides appropriate responses to inquiries and refers individuals to the appropriate area for assistance as necessary.

Assist with development of content for DCNR DEIB Communications. This may include but is not limited to contributions to DCNR newsletters and monthly agency DEIB communications.

Notify the DEIB Director when key efforts are not on schedule and what resources are required to attain desired outputs.

Collaborates with the DEIB Director, department staff, interns, and fellows to compile information for the development of content for DCNR's DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) written and other types of communications.

Assist with DCNR DEIB event planning. This may include but is not limited to participation in planning meetings and community outreach.

Reviews and maintains DEIB Intranet page resources including all newly created materials before finalization. Updates existing materials as needed and uploads them to DEIB Intranet page upon approval of DEIB Director.
