Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Supervise security officers assigned to a shift. Direct security assignments on a shift. Assist in maintenance of all security files, reports, equipment, installation keys, Conduct armed security patrols of the Fort Indiantown Gap Installation on foot or in a vehicle. Enforce installation rules and regulations. Report unusual incidents, criminal activity, fire, or other hazards and act according to policies and procedures. Initiate reporting and investigations related to security deficiencies, unauthorized access, or attempted unauthorized access to the installation. Supervise and Conduct access control, operate vehicle barrier systems, and visitor center duties at access control points located at Fort Indiantown Gap in accordance with installation regulations and police department policy. Use de-escalation techniques or applicable force in the performance of their duties in accordance with training and qualifications to protect themselves and others. Conduct traffic direction and control under the direction of police department personnel. Assist police and other emergency personnel as needed. Operate patrol vehicles, communications network, computers, alarm monitoring systems, closed circuit television systems, and other equipment. Operate installation emergency dispatch communications network center, monitor alarms and perform installation operator functions. Coordinate with federal, state, county, and local law enforcement and emergency service providers. Assist visitors and give directions. Assist with or participate in training programs to develop and maintain essential job knowledge and skills. Review and prepare security reports; maintain logs, and other forms as required. Effectively conduct performance management of staff to include the establishment and measurement of expectations/standards, staff development, mentoring, and recognition, informed recruitment/selection, effective use of staff resources, attendance management, and constructive action to address inadequate performance. This includes supervisory duties such as prepare and sign employee performance reviews, approve/disapprove leave requests, make recommendations for disciplinary actions, make recommendations for appointments and other personnel actions and interview, along with department heads, prospective employees, and assist in selection of applicants for employment. Perform other related duties. |

Example: Experience using Java; Professional Engineer License Experience: SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All positions require possession of a valid motor vehicle driver’s license. Employee must maintain active National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the duration of employment in this position. Employee must maintain active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) and Pennsylvania Justice Network (JNET) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police for the duration of employment in this position. Employee must maintain access to a Common Access Card (CAC) as issued by the federal Department of Defense for the duration of employment in this position. Employee must maintain firearms, less lethal qualifications and use of force training for the duration of employment in this position. Employee must maintain First Aid and CPR certification for the duration of employment in this position.
