Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Program Manager of Design & Standards Integration serves as the agency’s lead authority for furniture standards, architectural design standards, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems. This position oversees a distinct program area with enterprise-wide impact and operates with a high level of independence, strategic judgment, and technical expertise. The role is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and advancing statewide standards that support efficient, modern, and high-quality environments across the agency’s portfolio. The Director leads cross-bureau collaboration, advises leadership on industry trends and best practices, and ensures that design and BIM initiatives align with long-term organizational goals and capital strategies.[ |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. 1. Furniture Standards & Design Standards Oversight[NO2.1] - Develop, maintain, and enforce enterprise-wide furniture standards, finish standards, and architectural design guidelines. - Evaluate emerging technologies, materials, and workplace strategies to ensure standards remain current and effective. - Provide expert guidance to project teams and leadership on standards application and compliance. 2. Building Information Modeling (BIM) Program Management - Lead the development, implementation, and governance of the agency’s BIM standards, workflows, and data structures. - Oversee BIM platforms, asset data management, and system integrations to support lifecycle facility management. - Ensure consistent and accurate use of BIM across all design, construction, and operations teams. 3. Cross-Bureau Collaboration & Technical Liaison - Serve as the primary liaison between bureaus to coordinate standards, technologies, and design requirements. - Facilitate alignment across real estate, design, construction, maintenance, IT, and procurement functions. - Lead cross-functional working groups to resolve complex issues and promote consistency across projects and programs. 4. Research & Industry Standards Monitoring - Continuously evaluate industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory requirements. - Recommend updates to agency policies and standards to maintain industry leadership and compliance.[NO3.1] - Conduct or coordinate research initiatives that support innovation and improved performance. 5. Training & Professional Development Oversight - Develop and implement a comprehensive workforce training program related to furniture standards, design guidelines, and BIM use. - Oversee continuing education initiatives to ensure staff remain up to date with evolving tools, standards, and industry practices. - Provide mentorship and technical[NO4.1] support to internal teams and external partners. |
